A Poinsétia, também conhecida como bico-de-papagaio(Brasil), flor-do-natal ou estrela-do-natal(México e USA) é uma planta originária do México onde é espontânea.
Seu nome científico é Euphorbia Pulcherrima, que significa"a mais bela(pulcherrima) das euphorbias".

ResponderExcluirBeautiful! Blooming Poinsettias here where I live all come from hothouses, and are available only around the Christmas season (December). Sometimes, we can grow them in pots outside during the summer, but they are not in bloom then, just green leaves.

Beautiful flower photo, even though pointsettias are not technically flowers (but bracts) but who cares about that? This is so well composed, so bright and cheerful, and I like that it looks tropical and sunny, instead of the way we northerners usually see them, with cold all around, at Christmastime. Thanks for a delightful photo.
